The ancient Chinese believed that the human body is alive due to the flow of life energy or qi (or chi) in the body. There are certain so-called “traffic junction” or meridian points whereby these life energy congregates and then disperse throughout the body. A Short History of Acupuncture…
It is interesting to note that acupuncture was introduced from China to Japan and Korea since the pre-historic age. It was widely used in these cultures.
