The ancient Chinese believed that the human body is alive due to the flow of life energy or qi (or chi) in the body. Acupuncture and Its Origin
It is interesting to note that acupuncture was introduced from China to Japan and Korea since the pre-historic age. It was widely used in these cultures. However, it was only in the 17th century that it was brought to Europe. For the U.S., due to President Nixon’s diplomatic visit to China in 1970, it was thus introduced to the United States.
Blockages along the meridians restrict the flow of chi through our bodies. Blockages along pathways (meridians) repletions (excess qi) or depletions (insufficient qi) are adjusted to get an even flow. Each acupressure point is best suited for different conditions rather than a one size fits all meridian points. There is precision in the treatment.
